Welcome to my page! I am currently an Associate Professor of Strategic Management (with tenure) in the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. I received my Ph.D. in Management (Organizational Theory) in May 2018 from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, under the supervision of Damon Phillips and Dan Wang. I also hold a doctorate in Business Administration and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, which I received in 2016; while there, I worked with Fabrizio Perretti and Fabrizio Castellucci.

My research touches upon several areas at the intersection of organizational theory, entrepreneurship, economic sociology, and strategic management, including (but not limited to): 1) stigma and scandals across organizations; 2) social movements; 3) status and networks; 4) the determinants of success in creative industries; as well as 5) the role of sociological mechanisms in the transition from entrepreneurship to angel investing.

My work has appeared in print or is forthcoming at outlets such as Academy of Management JournalAcademy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Annual Review of SociologyJournal of ManagementOrganization Science, Social Forces, and Strategic Management Journal. In 2016, I was made a Kauffman Dissertation Fellow by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and in July 2018 I was a Summer Fellow at the Center of Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS) at Stanford University. I received my MBA in 2010 from the Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris, France, and Turin, Italy; additionally, I hold a MSc degree in Nuclear Engineering and a BSc in Energy Engineering, both summa cum laude, from the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, the oldest continually operating university in the world. While in Bologna, I was also lucky enough to be made a Fellow of Collegio Superiore, the merit-based honor society of the University, of which I am now a proud alumnus.
